"Lovely Food & Service (generally)"

I love the food & service generally, and would score your business full marks at your Luton branch.

However, today (12/09/20 @17:25approx) I asked respectfully at near closedown if a deal could be agreed on a small tray of pizza slices as I wished to help some local homeless friends to eat.

4 to 6 items (nothing much fgs) for which I would pay full price at peak but this was at end of day and I knew that such food was destined to be discarded, so would have appreciated a discount gesture given my reason.

The manager REFUSED to provide his name when asked and I pleaded that I will still PAY something for this small amount of food despite it heading for disposal.

He stood ground; fair enough if he was respecting company policy. However, his response towards my (reasonable?) request did nothing other than degrade my opinion of a company I trusted to demonstrate local empathy and customer service. I near begged with this manager. He was firm, yet NOT rude at all if he was acting in accordance with policy. Fair enough and fair play to him if that was the case.

However, please may I ask your corporate response as to your policy? Other companies have reduction labels do they not? At least if I paid; still £ on your bottom line than £zero in a bin.

Please may your manager reveal identity (surname) when requested (name badge?) other than replying "black shirt" as he appears not to have been trained effectively in a service policy, nor in handling customer queries, to which this is now a complaint.

It is SAD for those I choose to help from my own pocket and unfortunately leave feeling I was in the wrong; not wishing to return.
